Strabag Kunstforum Artcollection Rossmann Rudolfine 01

Rudolfine P. Rossmann (Klagenfurt 1958) devotes herself to abstract painting, which is influenced by her many stays abroad and study trips, especially to Asia. She collects and processes impressions and experiences of tropical landscapes and nature as well as their colors, light and atmosphere in her studio in Vienna. In a consciously controlled process that she developed over the years, Rossmann pours egg tempera over the horizontally positioned canvas. By tilting and inclining the painting support, deliberately directed gutter traces are created, which evoke associations with a road network, branching plants, or dry cracks. Fine and stronger lines of color overlap horizontally, vertically, and diagonally on the canvas, creating depth and multiple layers through their light-dark contrasts with the monochrome background. The resulting net-like structure appears at the same time moving and calm, surface and space are finely balanced by the artist.
