Fritz Fröhlich (Linz 1910-2001 Linz) is one of the best known Upper Austrian artists of the 20th century. Through his enormous creative drive and his pleasure in working in different techniques and styles, he eluded artistic categorization throughout his life. In addition to canvas works, drawings, pastels, collages and sculptures, frescoes and mosaics by Fritz Fröhlich are preserved in public spaces. Fröhlich was strongly influenced by Picasso and analytical Cubism, from which he developed an unmistakable style committed to representationalism, but always coupled with humor and a spark of irony.
