
The Artists-in-Residence program of the Strabag Kunstforum offers the possibility of developing artistic work.The studio program is connected with the Strabag Artaward international, supports the exchange among artists and promotes the cultural networking. Working in suggesting, joint atmosphere promotes creativity and inspires to convert artistically new impressions during the stay in Vienna.
Especially artists from new participant countries of the Strabag Artaward international, from Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary are interested in the program.
Every year, Strabag Kunstforum awards the permission to use the Artstudio to up to five artists by way of personal invitations. These invitations go to artists of the Strabag Artcollection and the nominated artists and laureates of the Strabag Artaward and the Strabag Artaward International.

The Strabag Artstudio is located on the first floor of the Strabag Haus at the important business-location Vienna Donau-City. On 700m² five working areas (spaces) with easels and tables as well as three rooms (privates) are at the disposal as well as a lounge -bar with integrated kitchen. All rooms are appropriately furnished with own bath and WC. A small library with catalogs and magazines and a read range (come together) are to be found in the input area

Three bedrooms (privates) offer a retreat place with seat opportunity, writing desk, storage space and a small bath beside the common residence range and open work range.

Since 2009 the artists are invited to use the Strabag Artstudio for their artistic work. Especially the interest of artists from the participating countries of the Strabag Artaward (Slovakia, Czech Republic and Hungary) was very intense during the last year.

The native Korean artist and winner of the former Bauholding Strabag Artaward in Carinthia, Miye Lee, finished her residence of two months with an exhibition of works painted at the Strabag Artstudio.
For the artist, living in Vienna, using the Artstudio meant as retreat, the possibility to work on her own beside daily routine. With verve, new creative power and inspiration Miye Lee finished about 40 colorful works on paper and canvas.


Zsolt Tibor´s sketches were awaking the interest of passengers and the visitors of the Strabag Artstudio. The visit of the Artstudio is possible by appointment and offers the possibility for employees and visitors to get in touch with the artists and to acquire one of the new works.

The Viennese artist Clemens Wolf (born in 1981) worked at the Strabag Artstudio after his solo exhibition at Strabag Artlounge. According to the topic of urban landscape and buildings, often set behind fences, he gold plated a building site fence as part of one of his installations. At the some time he painted large-sized formats on canvas by using grids and patterns as well as silhouettes which are now a component of his new expansive works.
Some of the new works made at the Strabag Artstudio were shown at International Art Fairs and exhibitions. Clemens Wolf is busy abroad, in the United States and is now well-known as one of Austria’s young and emerging artists.

Anselm Glück (born 1950 in Linz, Upper Austria) is one of the most important artists of the Strabag Artcollection. He was working for the third time for Strabag SE on a commissioned work of eight painted cubes, which can be composed together as six complete pictures.
The poetic and narrative world of the artist and littérateur appears in his extraordinary works showing figures, animals and buildings floating in space.
In October 2010 the cubes and new pictures will be shown at a special one-man-show at Strabag Artlounge: the instance - Anslem Glück 60th birthday.



Bernhard Buhmann (born 1979 in Vorarlberg) was the first young artist who worked at the new Strabag Artstudio in 2009. After his successful exhibition at the Strabag Artlounge he began to work on a new series of fantastic landscapes with small figures inspired by Old Master pieces which were presented after his move to hid new studio in Vienna at many exhibition and Artfairs in Dubai and Austria.
