ABOUT THE ARTIST
Prof. Ulrich Gansert

Helmut Ditsch (Buenos Aires 1962) moved to Austria in 1988, where he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. In 1997 he received a special prize from the Bauholding Kunstförderpreis, the predecessor of STRABAG Artaward International. Ditsch lives and works in Vaduz, Vienna and Argentina. His realistic, large-format landscape paintings form a unique position in international contemporary painting: rich in detail and worked in an extremely time-consuming glazing technique, Ditsch's paintings have a breathtaking presence. As a passionate extreme mountaineer and sportsman, Helmut Ditsch finds the motifs for his paintings in areas that he himself has hiked through and experienced, such as the Perito-Moreno glacier in Argentina, mountain peaks in the Alps, or the desert of Death Valley.

The exhibition is part of the STRABAG Artlounge Special series, which presents long-standing artists from the STRABAG Artcollection. Paintings from the last decades will be shown as well as a new monumental work, just finished in 2023.

Duration of the exhibition: 11.05.–07.06.2023
