STRABAG Artaward - 25 years of art prize for painting and drawing

In summer 2020 the STRABAG Artaward was awarded for the 25th time! An anniversary publication has now been published by Ritter Verlag Klagenfurt. With this, the STRABAG Kunstforum is celebrating a quarter of a century of joy in discovering and learning about contemporary art production and unconditional support and promotion of young artists. All 138 artists who have received awards so far will be presented; many award winners and former jury members will have their say. In addition, comprehensive text contributions by former jury members Yilmaz Dziewior, Goschka Gawlik, Günther Oberhollenzer and Andrea Schurian provide an insight into currents and trends in painting and drawing in 25 years of the art prize, how the STRABAG Artaward is embedded in the Austrian art prize landscape, the internationalization of STRABAG Artaward as well as extraordinary materials and what painting can also be today. The book is illustrated with previously unpublished photographs of jury meetings and award ceremonies, contemporary press clippings and several hundred images of works from the STRABAG Artcollection.
