Wilhelm Scherübl (Radstadt 1961) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Bruno Gironcoli and was awarded a Bauholding Kunstförderpreis, the predecessor of the STRABAG Artaward, in 1997. His œuvre is determined by transformation. Finding form, changing form and shaping form are fundamental themes of sculpture that have always occupied Scherübl. The artist lives and works in the Upper Enns Valley and uses the nature of his immediate surroundings as a source of inspiration for his artistic work. Scherübl paints outdoors, his works are reflections on nature. He himself sets artistic processes in motion by integrating what he finds in nature into his works and allowing himself to be inspired by these elements. However, the working process cannot be completely controlled by this - nature has its own guidelines, which Scherübl integrates harmoniously into his work.
