The German artist Ralf Ziervogel (Clausthal-Zellerfeld 1975) invites viewers of his large-format works on paper to go in search of details. In the compositions, which are meticulously applied to paper with ink, image and writing are closely connected. In tiny, hard-to-decipher, evocative texts and sentence fragments, the artist processes experiences and comments on existence, the art world, life in general. In terms of form and content, Ziervogel's works are balancing acts in which painting and drawing, structure and form, discretion and urgency find unity. Ralf Ziervogel received a recognition award of the STRABAG Artaward International 2015.
