Strabag Kunstforum Artcollection Waske Felix 01

Felix Waske (Vienna 1942) studied at the University of Applied Arts with Eduard Bäumer and at the Academy of Fine Arts with Max Weiler. Drawing, etching and photography characterize Waske's œuvre. Fine lines of colored pencil and pencil dominate his drawings. The dense tangle of lines usually fills the entire sheet, there are hardly any free spaces or blanks. In this way, the artist creates merging scenes consisting of imaginative figures, animals, and creatures that seem to float and dance weightlessly across the paper. Felix Waske does without titles in his work and leaves the interpretation to the viewer. Only a numbered note provides information about the sequence in which the works were created. The artist lives and works alternately in Vienna and Ibiza.
