Johanna Rohregger (Linz 1975) lives on her parents' farm in Alberndorf, Upper Austria. She discovered her love of drawing as early as elementary school age. Since 1999 Rohregger has been artistically active in the studio of the Diakoniewerk Gallneukirchen. In 2010, she was nominated for the EUWARD, a European art award for painting and graphics for artists with intellectual disabilities. Rohregger loves clear, strong colors and prefers to work in the technique of oil pastel painting, but also deals with printing techniques, which she executes in smaller formats and in great detail. Thematically, she has a clear preference for depictions of animals, but also paints the landscape of her immediate surroundings in interesting compositions. The artist has a remarkable power of observation and is able to put her impressions on paper in a very pointed way. Johanna Rohregger is supported by the Fonds andersART, a platform that aims to promote, establish and support self-taught artists with mental illness or intellectual disabilities.
