Franz Kaindl (Stollberg/Lower Austria 1932) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna with Josef Dobrowsky, Franz Elsner, Herbert Boeckl and Sergius Pauser. Kaindl's work includes painting, graphic art, sculpture, frescoes and mosaics. His subjects are expressionist landscapes, nudes and still lifes. In 1972 Kaindl was elected president of the Landesverband der Niederösterreichischen Kunstvereine, a position he held for 20 years. He also founded the " NÖ Dokumentationszentrum für Moderne Kunst," a valuable contribution to the recording of Austrian artists' biographies.
